About this event
Gopher Code Wars is Kampala's first live 1v1 Go programming tournament. Sixteen coders, one big screen, a bracket, and algorithmic problems solved head-to-head against the clock.
Spectators are welcome — the energy in the room is half the fun. Players must reserve one of the 16 seats in advance.

RULES & MATCH INTEL
Format
- Single-elimination bracket, 16 players, 1v1 matches
- Each match: one problem, 20 minutes, first correct submission wins
- Solutions must be written in Go 1.23+ using only the standard library
Fair play
- No AI assistants, copilots or code search. Offline docs (
go doc) are allowed - Screens are mirrored to the projector at all times
- Judges' decisions are final
Match intel
Expect problems on strings, maps, sorting, graphs and a little concurrency. Practise with go test — every problem ships with a table of test cases.
